Bruny Island is off the South East Coast of Tasmania and has a population of around 600. It receives over 40,000 visitors a year and is a little known paradise. To access the Island, drive to Kettering which is about 35 mins from Hobart. There a vehicular ferry can take you across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to the Island.

Bruny looks like two separate islands but is only one, with a narrow Isthmus joining the North and South of the Island called the Neck. The Island has one main Road which joins the towns together and divides into two on the South Island, one branch leading to Alonnah, the administrative centre of the Island and the other leading to Adventure Bay, the landing place of Captain Cook when he was looking for water.

The Island is scattered with pristine beaches,National Parks, walks and wildlife.
There is a historic Lighthouse and towering cliffs along the coastline to be seen.
Walks, including the coastal track to Penguin Island from Adventure Bay, beach walks at Cloudy Bay with all promising the sight of a variety of Flora and Fauna.

There are campsites throughout the island and other accommodation facilities, including the Pub at Alonnah, which has one of the several restaurants on the Island.
